WAREHOUSE MEWS EXTENSION & FACADE

LOCATION:

TYPE:

STAGE:

Primrose Hill, London

Office Extension & Refurbishment

Planning Approved

The brief was to extend the office space and add another floor to this warehouse mews in Primrose hill. The other part of the brief was to update the front facade of the building and create an enclosed glazed entrance and stairway to upper levels.

These historical industrial mews buildings were identified by Camden council as an important feature of the Primrose Hill conservation area. They add visual interest with their variety, roofline and detailing. Contrasting with the formal terraces of Gloucester Avenue. This meant a thorough planning application and considered design was required.

The existing character of the building, including materiality and detailing has been retained as much as possible. Black steel framed windows and black steel framed curtain wall glazing for the new entrance facade retain and accentuate the industrial aesthetic of the warehouse mews.

Full planning approval has been attained and more to follow as this project unfolds.
